As a chemical engineer, and a professional project finance banker and impact investor, I have in my own humble and modest way helped the world meet its critical infrastructure needs by financing large projects and at the same time ensure that we protect the environment and help fight climate change.

I am proud and satisfied about the benefit these financing's have brought to the world ; by also publishing a number of thought leadership articles I have espoused this cause.

Today , through another medium - Art - I try and communicate this message with some of the paintings I have done which are posted on this website.

By making small changes in our daily lives we can buttress this cause.

I hope these paintings inspire you to act.

Here are ten things we should do

  • Optimize / Reduce air travel

  • Support the planting of more trees

  • Avoid wastage of water

  • Walk / cycle when possible

  • Change our dietary habits/ eat less meat

  • Maintain air conditioning at 24 degrees centigrade

  • Install energy saving devices

  • Maintain a carbon footprint calculator

  • Embrace the circular economy

  • Embrace the use of electric vehicles

    Here are 10 things the IEA recomends

    • 🚄 Reduce speed limits on highways by at least 10 km/h - An effective method to cut fuel consumption.
    • 📈 Work from home up to three days a week where possible - Reducing commutes directly impacts oil demand.
    • 🚲 Car-free Sundays in large cities - Prioritizing pedestrians and cyclists, leading to cleaner air and less traffic.
    • 🚶‍♂️‍➡️ Make public transport cheaper; incentivize micro-mobility, walking, and cycling - Providing accessible and affordable alternatives to driving.
    • ⛽️ Alternate private car use in large cities - Rotating vehicle use significantly reduces congestion and fuel consumption.
    • 🚖 Urge car sharing and practices that decrease fuel use - Maximizing vehicle efficiency through shared rides.
    • 🚛 Promote efficient use of freight trucks and goods delivery - Optimizing logistics to cut fuel consumption in transportation.
    • 🚝 Prefer high-speed and night trains to planes where possible - Rail travel offers a more sustainable option compared to short-haul flights.
    • 📅 Avoid business travel when alternatives exist - Virtual meetings and digital tools reduce the need for physical travel.
    • 🚘 Hasten adoption of electric and more efficient vehicles - Transitioning to electric vehicles is crucial for long-term sustainability.
    If we do both - what the art creatively tells us and the science, we can surely fight global warming.
